Ten things I don’t miss

 

Ten things I don’t miss from my old London life:

1.  Greyness: Grey suits, grey weather, grey houses, grey people
2.  Unnecessary aggressiveness and rudeness
3.  Commuting, especially the tube
4.  Overcrowded, overpriced, soulless bars
5.  Noisy, assertive drunks on the tube or in the street
6.  The “Daily Mail” and other narrow minded bigots
7.  Big Brother and “reality” TV generally
8.  Roads choked with traffic, where the drivers sit alone watching the rain through monotonous windscreen wipers waiting for the car in front to finally move
9.  Miserable, insidious, depressing drizzle
10.  Cold, dark, sunless, winter days
